Zagreb Women’s Guide’s first issue was distributed at the intersection of Praška Street and Zrinjevac, just in time for the arrival of Zagreb’s Night March for International Women’s Day at Zrinjevac. As part of the renewed project Zagreb Women’s Guide (2002–2006), in collaboration with the Zagreb City Museum and the Collection of Croatian Women Painters Born in the 19th Century, three issues of the magazine will be released in 2025. The first issue featured articles about the history of women’s labour rights and the history of childbirth in Zagreb and beyond.
Zagreb Women’s Guide is an ongoing research-based art project which, in line with contemporary historiographical trends, symbolically points the role and position of women within specific historical periods, social spheres, and/or order of everyday life.
Project authors: Barbara Blasin (graphic designer, artist, project researcher), Ana Lovreković (historian, museologist, project researcher), Igor Marković (culturologist, project researcher), Tihana Puc (curator at the Zagreb City Museum, art historian, project researcher), Dubravka Zima (professor of Croatian language and literature, project researcher).
